The Solo DVR and remote camera head installation is quick and easy. Most people use a Helmet Cam setup, which requires the camera to be mounted on a sports helmet. Depending on the application, the camera will need to be positioned higher or lower in order to obtain the best view. In this example, we're going to mount the camera for motocross riding.
First of all, make sure the surface of the helmet where the camera mount will be installed is clean, and no grease or oily residue is present.
Place a piece of high-bond Velcro on the helmet, where you want to position the Anti-vibration camera mount. For motocross riding, usually an angle of 45 degrees is desired, because once the rider is on the bike and puts his head down, the camera will be pointing directly towards the front. You will need to experiment with other positions, depending on your needs.

The bottom of the camera mount has a matching Velcro side. Position it on top of the receiving Velcro, and snap both of them together tightly. The bonding force of the velcros is amazingly strong, and once fully interlocked, the camera can be used at very high speeds without fear of coming off.

Route the camera cable towards the rear of the helmet, and connect it to the video cable of the Solo DVR unit. You can make final adjustments of the horizontal axis, by grabbing the rear of the camera and twisting it left or right inside the mount, until the image is perfect. The Solo DVR has a built-in LCD screen which lets you adjust the camera live on the field.

The rider is now ready to go! Simply press the RECORD button on the DVR, or use the optional LANC remote controller if your DVR is mounted in a back pack. The camera can be removed from the helmet in just seconds, and if you need to remove the Velcro from the helmet as well, you can peel it off safely without scratching the painted surface underneath.
